Health and Safety
T. J. O'Connor & Associates recognise that successful management of Health and Safety contributes to the overall performance of the Company, by reducing unnecessary losses and liabilities and is considered and 'equal partner', along with production and quality.
Our staff has gained a wealth of experience in designing for Health and Safety through the following processes:
- T. J. O’Connor & Associates have acted as Project Supervisor Design Process (PSDP - formally PSDS) on all Civil Engineering projects, including Design and Build projects
- A number of our staff have completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Health and Safety in Construction and have specialised in the role of PSDP
- Members of our Staff have represented the ACEI in negotiations with the Health and Safety Authority (HSA) and the Government for the drafting of the new SI504 of 2006 (Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2006), and associated Guidance Note.
- T.J. O’Connor & Associates staff are actively involved in developing and presenting the Designing for Safety in Construction and PSDP courses run on a continuous basis by the ACEI and Engineers Ireland.
