New Headquarters & Laboratories for Irish Blood Transfusion Service - St. James's Hospital Dublin

This project involved the design and construction of new headquarters & specialist laboratories for IBTS comprising 10,500m2 of 3-storey offices and 2-storey laboratories with plantroom over. This included 2,500m2 of specialised laboratory/clean room facilities housing processing, quarantine and storage areas for blood products. The site originally contained old disused buildings which required excavation and disposal off site. Following a site appraisal, the site required an extensive environmental assessment resulting in the excavated soils required specialist handling. A comprehensive underground services survey was completed, minimising the subsequent exposure of the Client to claims for unchartered services and delays.
