Experience:

Since joining T J O Connor & Associates in 2003, Steve has been responsible for a range of civil engineering projects including sewage treatment, sewerage networks, water treatment and supply and flood relief schemes. His role has covered contracts from feasibility study to agreement of the final account and has included environmental impact statements, preliminary reports, project management and design. Projects in which he has been involved include South Leinster GWS DBO Contract, Roscommon GWS DBO Contract, NW Sligo GWS DBO Contract, Carrigtohill WWTW Contract, Tullamore WWTW Contract as well as numerous smaller schemes.His experience includes tendering, assessment of appropriate solutions for water supply, assessing assimilative capacity of rivers, management of water conservation, assessment of optimum solutions for water and wastewater treatment, co-ordination and management of advance works surveys and contracts for a number of sizeable projects.He has worked closely with a number of local authorities as the main point of contact and has produced several procurement options reports. He is familiar with the Department of Finance Model contracts and with the FIDIC form of contract.He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute or Arbitrators and has worked on a number of conciliations and arbitrations. He is active within Engineers Ireland and has been involved with interviewing candidates for chartership for several years. He currently sits on the Engineers Ireland Board of Examiners.He has acted as PSDS and PSDP on a number of projects in accordance with the Health & Safety Regulations.
