Experience:

Patrick Cassidy has over 45 years of experience in the planning and design of environmental and civil engineering projects including drainage and water supply schemes, water and wastewater treatment plants, flood relief schemes and harbour reclamation works. He has been closely involved in the plan to improve and modernise rural water supplies and was responsible for the Guidance Document for the Preparation of Rural Water Strategic Plans, preparing the Strategic Plan for County Monaghan. He is also in charge of the preparation of the Guidance Document for the Procurement of Small Water Services Schemes.

He has acted as Project Director responsible for Monaghan, Cavan, Sligo and Limerick DBO grouped water schemes in addition to water supply schemes in Carrickmacross, Leitrim and Sligo, sewerage schemes in Tullamore, Graiguenamanagh, Thomastown, Baltray / Termonfeckin, Buncrana, Osberstown and Swords and maritime works at Lough Swilly and Moville.

Due to his expertise in the fields of water and wastewater engineering, he has been commissioned by An Bord Pleanála to act as planning inspector in the case of various planning appeals referred to the board. He is a past chairman of the Republic of Ireland Branch of the Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management and the Civil Division of the Institution of Engineers of Ireland and he is a past President of the Association of Consulting Engineers of Ireland (ACEI). He has served on various committees to set up draft standard conditions of contract and has organised educational seminars relating to the Civil Engineering Standard Method of Measurement.

He is a member of Engineers Ireland List of Conciliators and of the CI Arbi Panel of Conciliators and has participated in construction related dispute resolutions as adjudicator and as technical advocate in Arbitration.
